What to do if you don’t have a Valentine

Do you feel like you are the only one who doesn’t have a special someone for Valentine’s Day?  Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, embrace the day with love by considering the following suggestions

  1. Treat yourself on Valentine’s Day. Whether it is getting a massage, buying yourself your favorite perfume/cologne or doing some retail therapy, do something that makes you feel good. Learning to love and nurture yourself is most important!

  2. Express love to a friend or family member. Instead of focusing on the love you feel you are not receiving, consider finding ways to show love to other people in your life. Consider asking a friend to lunch, baking cookies for colleagues or visiting someone elderly who is alone. Giving love can replenish the love you feel you are missing in your personal life.

  3. Set your intention for finding your special someone this year; create an action plan, set personal goals, use new approaches, consult a dating coach or matchmaker to help you reach your relationship goals.

  4. Take 5 minutes to write a list of what you feel grateful for in your life. An attitude of gratitude shifts our perspective from what we don’t have to what we do have.
